Waddlewind is a 3D penguin game you play in the browser. Walk a pastel snow town, meet the crew, earn coins for new clothes and race the clock on the rink, with other players in the same square.

What's in the square

The fountain sits in the middle, with Luna beside it. Around it stand the CAFE, the SHOP, the MARKET and GAMES. Head toward the canal for the rink, the bridges and the dock.

Walk into the SHOP, or go further: the MARKET door opens Pastel Market, the HOME door Snow Village, where your own cottage waits to be furnished, and the arch at the north edge leads up to the Winter Castle. The blue boat at the dock sails to Penguin Harbor, where you can row a dinghy out to the islets, and the walk east past the HOTEL leads to Ice Adventure, with a frozen lake to skate on and the target slide. The Ferris wheel on the skyline is still scenery.

The arrow keys walk too. Drag with the right mouse button to turn the camera and use the wheel to zoom. A gamepad works as well.

On a phone, the joystick walks, Jump jumps, and you tap the pink prompt to talk or look.

At the Winter Castle the lanterns are lit together every 20 minutes. The first one you light in a lighting pays 15 coins, up to 45 coins a day.

Beat the clock on the rink

The rink sits by the canal in Waddle Square. Skate two laps through four numbered gates, in order. The next gate glows pink, and a card in the corner shows your lap, gate and time.

Ice is quick but slippery: you skate faster than you walk, and turning takes longer, so start each turn early.

The target slide at Ice Adventure

Thunder coaches two lanes of ice there. Skate up the lane, let go before the blue line and glide: where you stop is what counts. Push or jump past the line and the try doesn't count.

Slides pay up to 60 coins a day.

Spend them at the SHOP

Bubbles runs the SHOP and painted everything in it. Walk up to an item to see its price and try it on before you buy. What you buy stays on your penguin, even after a reload. Pastel Market has more: hats, ears and trail gear at three stalls, and furniture for your cottage at Home Goods.

Coins can't be bought, sold or traded. They only buy clothes for your penguin and furniture for its cottage.

Play together

Online, everyone in Waddle Square sees each other walk, jump and wave. You talk with Quick Phrases: 32 ready-made lines and 7 emotes, picked from a panel with the Chat button or T. There's no typing and no private messages.

About this test

Waddlewind is in an early, closed test. The link is shared with a small group of testers, and the game changes as we work on it.

There's no sign-up. Online you play as a guest, with no name, email or password. The first time you play, the game asks for your birth month and year.

There are no ads and no tracking. To delete your online data, open Menu, then Privacy & data. The Privacy Policy and the Terms have the details.
